Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to USA, Canada, and International high school journalism teachers to subsidize the cost of attending teacher workshops at an American university. Priority funding is given to unlicensed teachers and advisers and to those with little or no journalism teaching and advising experience. Grant recipients are expected to return to journalism teaching in the fall.

The IU Media School plans to award Gretchen Kemp Grants to high school teachers/advisers to study at IU in Bloomington this summer. Funds may be used for any HSJI graduate-credit workshop, including J804 Independent Study for Journalism Educators.

Grants also are available for high school journalism/media teachers and advisers who enroll in the university's summer practicum, a customized professional development opportunity that meets during the student workshops in July.
