PROMOTING YOUTH

Standish, Maine is organized for the following purposes: To promote the social welfare of the community, To assist disabled and needy war veterans, members of the US Armed Forces, their dependents, widows and orphans of deceased veterans, To provide entertainment, care and assistance to hospitalized veterans or members of the Armed Forces of the United States, To carry on programs to perpetuate the memories of deceased veterans and members of the Armed Forces and comfort their survivors, To conduct programs for religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational programs, To sponsor or participate in activities of a patriotic nature, To provide insurance benefits for members or dependents of their members or both, To provide social and recreational activities for its members

To ensure a vibrant recreation economy and access to high quality recreation opportunities in by educating the public on policy matters of importance to recreation, holding leaders accountable, and supporting decision makers who fight for a strong recreation economy.

The corporation was organized as a public benefit corporation to provide equipment for Gorham High School Hockey Team

YOUTH PROGRAM.

We are an of Ice hockey officials that help supply officials to all youth hockey games in the / area. We collect fees from youth hockey organizations and distribute these same funds to the officials that work games. We also have funds from prior years that are used as a scholarship to send players to hockey camps. Due to COVID, we did not send any players to hockey school in 2021. We also started a new scholarship fund in the name of one of our deceased members. This new scholarship will be used to offset expenses for new first time officials and may also be used to send a senior official to a more advanced camp in USA Hockey. The new scholarship will only have expenses or grants in 2022.
