Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International start-up companies to participate in a business accelerator program in a select city in the United States. Applications will be accepted from technology start-ups that demonstrate creativity and innovation in the field of financial services. The Accelerator program takes place in New York City.

Every year Techstars invests in 10 FinTech companies and help them get to the next level. The founding team of each startup moves to the New York City area for the 13-week program for an intensive hands-on, mentorship-driven experience. During the program Techstars offers an intense combination of presentations and mentorship with two goals in mind: 1) Refine/confirm your business concept based on rapid feedback from users and “what-if” insights from mentors. 2) Get ready to raise capital.

Barclays is seeking a diverse group of companies who are pushing innovation across the financial services industry. From cyber security and artificial intelligence through to wealth management, investment banking, big data, and crytocurrency - any area of FinTech will be considered.

Mentorship:

The Barclays Accelerator is a mentor-driven program with industry experts working closely with participating start-ups to help them accelerate over the course of the program, and beyond.

All mentors are experienced entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and executives from financial services companies. Participants will learn how to pitch, prepare for industry partnerships, create momentum with investors, and negotiate solid investment terms.

The intensive 13-week program is designed to accelerate your start-up. As well as getting unprecedented access to Barclays' network and knowledge base, successful applicants will also gain invaluable insights from some of the smartest minds in the start-up and FinTech worlds.

The program provides start-ups with:

  • Introductions and guidance from key decision makers at Barclays, who are looking for innovative solutions
  • Mentoring from leading entrepreneurs and FinTech industry experts
  • Up to $120,000 investment from Techstars (depending on location), as well as other corporate perks
  • Access to technical expertise in a dynamic and collaborative community working space with cutting-edge resources
  • The opportunity to pitch your business to the influential tech community
  • Lifetime membership of the prestigious Techstars alumni community

The Barclays Accelerator is looking for great founders with ideas that solve real problems or create meaningful innovations. For Barclays, it’s about the team and because of this, single founder companies are less likely to be accepted.
