Grants of up to $2,500 to Maine individual artists for artistic projects in any discipline. Funding is intended for the creation of new artistic work, the continuation of existing arts activities, and artist participation in programs and activities that will advance their careers. Projects can be on any scale.

As the Arts Commission continues to expand its reach to all people living in Maine, it is committed to offering accessible opportunities to people historically under-served in the arts, including people who speak languages other than English, people with disabilities, people who are LGBTQIA+, people living in rural areas, and people from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. In upholding its responsibility to cultural equity, applications are strongly encouraged from candidates with connections in these communities and from all counties across the state.
