The Fund awards scholarships to graduating Maine high school students in Aroostook County, Maine. Most scholarships are valued at $2,000 and are renewable until the student graduates or completes the fourth year of a longer program. See also Part XIV.

Standish, Maine is organized for the following purposes: To promote the social welfare of the community, To assist disabled and needy war veterans, members of the US Armed Forces, their dependents, widows and orphans of deceased veterans, To provide entertainment, care and assistance to hospitalized veterans or members of the Armed Forces of the United States, To carry on programs to perpetuate the memories of deceased veterans and members of the Armed Forces and comfort their survivors, To conduct programs for religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational programs, To sponsor or participate in activities of a patriotic nature, To provide insurance benefits for members or dependents of their members or both, To provide social and recreational activities for its members

RAISING AND EXPENDING FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING INDIVIDUALS AND GIVING CHARITABLE DONATIONS TO THOSE IN NEED.

MISSION STATEMENT:TO ENHANCE AND SAFE-GUARD THE ENTITLEMENTS FOR ALL AMERICAN VETERANS WHO HAVE SERVED HONORABLY AND TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THEM, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THE COMMUNITIES WHERE THEY LIVE THROUGH LEADERSHIP, ADVOCACY AND SERVICES.

THE ORGANIZATION IS ORGANIZED TO BETTER THE CONDITIONS OF WORKERS AT CASCO BAY LINES, AN ISLAND TRANSIT DISTRICT, TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR SERVICE, AND TO DEVELOP A HIGHER DEGREE OF EFFICIENCY IN THEIR RESPECTIVE OCCUPATION. THIS IS AN OF WORKERS WHO HAVE COMBINED TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF THE MEMBERS BY BARGAINING COLLECTIVELY WITH THEIR EMPLOYER TO SECURE BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS. THE IS DEDICATED TO THE BETTERMENT OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO WORK ON AND OFF VESSELS SERVICING THE INDUSTRY ON CASCO BAY, AND THE RESIDENTS OF THE CASCO BAY ISLANDS.
