Grants to Maine and New Hampshire nonprofit organizations for programs that enhance the quality of life in Fryeburg and Bridgton, Maine, and the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire. Funding is intended to support programs in a variety of areas that encourage community members to be responsible for themselves and concerned about one another.

Foundation grant making policies and principles are aimed at promoting these essential characteristics of a vibrant community. Grantmaking is not limited to a particular field of interest but rather supports the entire range of human life within the geographical areas served. Promoting access, equity and diversity is central to the program’s potential impact.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Kendal C. & Anna Ham Charitable Foundation welcomes grant requests from the Mount Washington Valley, New Hampshire, Fryeburg and Bridgton, Maine area organizations that are defined as tax ­exempt under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. To be eligible, your organization must improve the quality of life of residents of the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire, or the communities of Bridgton, Maine or Fryeburg, Maine.

In general, grants are not made for:

­­- Annual operating support (included salaries)
-­­ Individuals, ­­media, or publications
­­- Conferences or symposia
- ­­Religious organizations for religious purposes
-­­ Private or parochial schools
­­- Replacement of government funding
-­­ City or state government

Pre-Application Information:

The Kendal C. & Anna Ham Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors considers grant proposals on a semi­annual basis in April and October as follows:

- For consideration at the April meeting, the proposal is due by 5:00 PM on the last working day of January.
- For consideration at the October meeting, the proposal is due by 5:00 PM on the last working day of July.

No more than one proposal from the same organization will be considered for funding within a twelve ­month period.
