Grants to Maine government agencies and school districts to acquire or develop public outdoor recreation facilities. Applicants must request a site visit before applying. Funding is intended to foster and maintain a legacy of high-quality recreation areas and facilities and to stimulate non-federal investments in the protection and maintenance of recreation resources.

The maximum grant award for this round will be $300,000.
Acquisition projects: By rule, the site must be open and accessible for public outdoor recreation within three years of the purchase of the property.
Project Design: Cost for design and engineering incurred up to three years in advance of receipt of project agreement (successful award) are eligible for either match or reimbursement.
